Ashlie Burns

The first week that Moksha Yoga Burlington opened in 2008 marked the first time Ashlie stepped onto a yoga mat. Why does she keep coming back to the mat? “It makes me feel good! I feel better each time I do it!” Ashlie developed a devoted practice and quickly became more involved in the Moksha studio community as an Energy Exchanger. Ashlie’s no stranger to being a leader – she has coached athletics for years, including competitive cheerleading. Always working to help others, Ashlie felt inspired to help share the transformational experiences of yoga.
She actually quit her corporate job in order to head to India for the Moksha Teacher Training in 2010. She also completed the Young Yoga Masters program in the same year. In 2012 she added a Restorative Training to her yoga training tool belt to be able to offer her students a well rounded approach.
Who inspires Ashlie? “My mom! Always learning from her wise words and her ‘get it done’ attitude, she’s a natural healer and RN, and a really good friend.” Ashlie loves an adventure – whether it’s a road trip or an exciting new challenge, she lets curiosity lead her. This spring she welcomed a new baby into her family and her favourite days are spent walking and having a picnic in the park with the family. With a bit of inspiration from her students and the MYH community, Ashlie’s future aspirations include becoming a triathlete.
