Amy Ballinger

No matter what comes up in life, yoga always makes Amy feel grounded, connected and inspired.  She fell in the love with her practice in 2005, after taking an outdoor class on Whistler mountain. Amy’s love of learning led her to become a teacher and ultimately a studio owner totally by accident. After taking so many trainings, workshops and classes, and experiencing firsthand the power of this amazing practice, she realized that she had to share all that had been shared with her.
Over the years, Amy has completed the Moksha Yoga Level 1, 2 and Flow teacher trainings in Thailand and Costa Rica with Jessica Robertson, Ted Grand and Dina Tsouluhas, One Yoga teacher Training in Saskatoon with Ryan Lier, Sivananda Yoga training in Kerala, India, as well as Baptiste Power Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Yin Yoga and many other workshops and trainings with inspiring teachers like Sean Corne, Brian Kest, Tara Stiles and Shiva Rae. She has also completed stand up paddle board (SUP) yoga certifications in Costa Rica and Mexico with Kristy Wright Schell and Gillian Gibree.
Amy co-founded Moksha Yoga Winnipeg in 2007 and after selling her part in the Winnipeg studio, she moved home to Ontario and opened Moksha Yoga Hamilton. The Dundas location opened in 2010 and the Stoney Creek (East Mountain) location opened in 2016.
Amy’s favourite thing in the world is practicing yoga in the grass or on the beach, underneath the sun (with a lot of sunscreen on, of course – she is a redhead after all).
